Crofton Journal November 12 1959 Last Rites For Gust Kruse Friday Gust Kruse 80, who had been in ill health the past five months passed wawy in a Norfolk Hospital at 3 pm Sunday, November 1, 1959. Funeral Services were held in the EUB Church on Friday November 6 with the Rev Max Barky in charge. Three songs were sung by Sol Walker and accompanied by Mrs. Walker at the paino. Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery in northwest Crofton and under direction of Prescott Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Herman Zart, Fred Fiscus, John Heilman, Ross Hunt, Otto Hansen, Dick Roosendahl. Gust Kruse son of Fredrick and Conredena Kruse ws born May 14, 1879 in Germany. He came to Yankton, South Dakota with his parents in 1881 at the age of 2 years. A year later he moved with his parents to a homestead northwest of Crofton. Where he grew to manhood . He attended grade school at West Blyville and college at Yankton, South Dakota. He married on May 4, 1904 to Ann Heilman of Miller, South Dakota. They lived on a farm northwest of Crofton wuntil 1908.When they took a homstead at Philip, South Dakota. Iin 1911 they moved back to this community and bought a farm northwest of Crofton where they made their home. His wife Anna proceeded him in death January 1, 1932. He moved to Bloomfield, Nebraska in 1936. On MAY 4, 1942 he married Lydia Bolton, They made thei home in Niobrara, Nebraska. The past five months Mr. Kruse was in the hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska where he passed away Nov. 1, 1959 at the age of 80 years 5 months and 16 days. He leaves to mourn his wife at the Colridge Rest Home, one daughter Mildred (Mrs. Pete Juel), three sons Milton of Crofton, Myron and Marvin Kruse of Yabkton, South Dakota. Six grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren, one brother Chris and a sister Marie Hinman (Harry) of Crofton. Three step children Ed Bolton, Mrs. Ross Hunt,of Bloomfiled, and Gena Inncenti of Tacoma ,Washington. Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends. Proceeded in death by his parents, two sisters, and five brothers. He was a loving and kind and will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Due to weather and road conditions relatives from a distance were unable to attend.
