Miss Catherine McIntyre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McIntyre of Amsterdam, and Harvey Amos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Amos, were married by Rev. J. T. Alexander at Amsterdam last Wednesday evening. The bride was attended by her sister Nellie, and the best man was John Allmon, of Bergholz. After a week at Niagara Falls the couple will make their home at Canton where Mr. Amos is employed. His obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, January 1979. Harvey H. Amos, 73, who moved from Kilgore to Canton in 1928, died Saturday in Timken Mercy Hospital after a seven-month illness. He was a retired employee of the Timken Co. and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Sponseller Grange and Canton Chapter of the Q. C. W. A. Surviving are his wife, Catherine G. Amos to whom he was married 50 years October 17, 1878; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Christina) Pastor of Canton; a son, Robert H. Amos of Mechanicstown, a brother, James Amos of Delaware, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Francis (Ruth) Cassidy of Massillon and Mrs. Mary McConnell and Miss Dora Amos, both of Carrollton; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson. Services were held Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home at Canton with rev. R. C. Wells officiating. Burial was in the Kilgore Cemetery. Was an automobile mechanic from 1925 until 1943 becoming a Master Mechanic working for the Cadillac Garage in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. After 1943 and until retirement he was a Master Electronics Technician for the Timken Roller Bearing Company in Canton, Stark County, Ohio.
