Harvey H. Cogsil, well known Loudon Township farmer. died Tuesday morning at his home near Kilgore. A few years ago he suffered a stroke, since which time he gradually lost his health and Strength. Mr. Cogsil was the only son of Harvey L. Cogsil and Rose (Snively) Cogsil, and was born in Muskingum County, Ohio, December 27, 1867, being the only child of his parents. When he was three years of age his mother died. He was reared in the home of his grandfather, Harvey H. Cogsil, and inherited his 175 acres. Three years of his life were spent in Muskingum County, where he attended school at Adamsville, and he was for three years in the mercantile business in Amsterdam. Mr. Cogsil was prominent in democratic politics in Carroll County, and served two terms on the county election board. In March 1892 he married Flora Fawcett, daughter of Alexander and Helen (Kneen) Fawcett. She died five years ago. He is survived by three sons; Charles of Lamartine, Alexander of Kilgore, and Orin of the home; a daughter, Mrs. C. B. Williams of Kinsman; a half-sister, Mrs. Bruce Vincel of Adamsville; three half-brothers, J. P. Cogsil of Zanesville, Bruce Cogsil of Pittsburgh and Frank of Steubenville. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. C. B. Stephens, were held in Kilgore M. E. Church at 2 p.m. yesterday (Thursday). Burial was made at Kilgore. State of Ohio, Department of Health, Division of Vital Statistics. Death Certificate: Carroll County, Certificate number 35117.
