Her funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. She grew up in Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School. She married Merlen Martsfield. They lived in Redfield. Helen married Jim Swoyer and worked at the Ben Franklin Store. She retired from the ASC office after many years of service. She enjoyed bowling, word find puzzles and always looked forward to getting her hair done. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Helen is survived by her son, Richard Martsfield of Ashton, S.D.; her stepchildren Jackie Swoyer of Woodbury, Minn., Jimmy Swoyer of Omaha, Neb. and Jerry (Eric) Anderson of Sacramento, Calif., and their children Erica and Emily; stepgranddaughter Tiffany Harris, stepgreat-granddaughter Amber Harris. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Roy Pearson and nieces and nephews: Jane, Angie, Stephanie, April and Travis Pearson, Mike Harris, Bill Harris, Judy Collins and Kathy Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter-in-law Melissa Martsfield and nephews Scott Pearson and Doug Harris. Published in the Aberdeen News on 12/3/2006.
