His obituary in the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, September 2, 1904. Jacob Kohler, an aged farmer, died at the home of his son, Albert Kohler, in Loudon Township Tuesday night. He was a native of Tuscarawas County, but lived nearly all his life in Carroll. His age was about 80 years. Three sons are left to mourn his death -- Messrs. David, George and Albert, farmers of Loudon Twp. The wife and mother died about six years ago. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, and an honest, industrious man. Interment yesterday.
