Maternal grandparents were Francis Marion and Martha Holyfield Childress. 2001 October 5 - Obituary - Winston Salem Journal Forsyth County, North Carolina: DOBSON - Mrs. Lalar Stanley Coe, a loving mother and grandmother, 83, of Rockford Road, Dobson, died on Thursday, October 4, 2001 unexpectedly at the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born in Surry County on May 16, 1918 to the late Sexton Stanley and Virginia Pocahontas Stanley. In addition to her parents, her husband Woodrow F. Coe preceded her in death. Mrs. Coe was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Ann Coe of Dobson and Alma and Landon Matthews of Dobson; two sons, Wayne and Linda Coe of Dobson and Earlie and Brenda Coe of Dobson; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and by one brother, Sidney Stanley of Ramsur. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Bear Creek Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Her body will remain at Davis & Son Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the services. The family will receive friends at Davis & Son Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at Mrs. Coe's home. (Recorded by: K.
