Description	:	Mrs. Louise Marie Brandes, nee Meyer, after many years of suffering died, Wednesday, May 9, 1894, at 4:15 P.M., at her home five miles southwest of Wentzville, aged 62 years, 1 month, 14 days. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the M.E. Church, at Wentzville, conducted by Rev. Allen, who spoke in beautiful terms of the dead. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the M.E. Church, at Wentzville, conducted by Rev. Allen, who spoke in beautiful terms of the dead. The remains were then taken to the city cemetery and laid to rest, a large cortege accompanying them. The deceased was born at Hanover, Germany. She came to Missouri with her parents at the age of two years, and had since made this state her home. November 13, 1861 she was married to Henry A. Brandes, who with two sons and six daughters survives to mourn her loss. Hers was a beautiful, Christian life, so noble, so true and faithful was she in the discharge of every duty. Although a sufferer for years, she bore her affliction with patience and endurance, never murmuring, and always thinking of self last. She was a true and devoted wife, a kind and indulgent mother, loved and respected by all who knew her. During the last two weeks of her life, she suffered comparatively, little; and passed from this world of trial with a heavenly smile on her face to meet the loved ones gone before. Why God did not spare her to our agonizing prayers we can not tell; but we know; that we must bow to his decrees. It is hard to reconcile the mind to this great loss, but in the midst of such afflictions comes the gentle voice of the Savior whispering to our troubled hearts, “I am the resurrection and the life.”
