DAVIS Marguerite Butler, the daughter of Pierce E. and Mary Butler, was born June 29, 1876, on a farm near Glasco, Kansas. She passed away January 4th, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.A. DAVIS Marguerite Butler, the daughter of Pierce E. and Mary Butler, was born June 29, 1876, on a farm near Glasco, Kansas. She passed away January 4th, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.A. Willars, in Delphos. Her childhood was spent on the farm, and she attended grade school at Harmony. Later, she went to college at Salina. For five years, she taught in the rural schools of Cloud county. On August 21, 1899, she was united in marriage with Walter E. Davis of Delphos, Kansas. To this union, two children were born: Meyrle J. Willars, of Delphos, and George B. Davis, of Hoyt, Kansas, who survive her. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. W.J. Menard, Chicago, Ill., and Kate Butler, of Glasco, Kansas; two brothers, T. J. Butler, San Francisco, Cal. and E.G. Butler, Chicago, Ill., and one grandson, Jack Willars, Delphos. They started housekeeping on a farm northeast of Glasco, and lived there until 1913 when they moved to a farm in the Delphos community. Several years later, they moved to the Pierce Butler place, where they lived until the death of her husband, Sept. 19, 1933. Since that time, she had made her home in Glasco. For the past six months, she had been in Chicago, visiting and helping care for her sister. On December 22, she came to Delphos, where she expected to make her home. Her death, after an illness of short duration, came as a sudden shock to all who knew her. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Church in Glasco, and she was laid to rest there beside the body of her late husband. _________________________________ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank those who so kindly assisted during the illness and death of our mother and sister.
