Announcement is made by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Shepherd of Amsterdam of the marriage of their daughter, Martha, to Leonard George, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy George of near Carrollton on Thursday evening, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. Rev. A. B. Reid of Scroggsfield officiated. Mrs. Helen Newbold of Mechanicstown, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Ralph George of Canton, brother of the groom, acted as best man. The bride wore a gown of white crepe and lace and carried American Beauty roses. Mrs. Newbold was dressed in yellow crepe and carried tea roses. Audrey shepherd, niece of the bride's mother served a buffet super to thirty-five guests. Mrs. George is a graduate of Bergholz High School. Mr. George is a graduate of Carrollton High School and Canton Actual Business College. He is an employee of The Cummings Bank Co. of Carrollton. Following the ceremony the couple left by motor on an eastern trip.
