Mrs. Mae Stenger, 81, of Harlem Springs died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nina Maple, of 280 2nd Street NE, Carrollton, following a one-month illness. She had been in ill health for the past 17 months. Born September 29, 1885, in Lee Twp., she was the daughter of the late James S. and Ella (Tinlin) Allmon and had resided in Carroll County most of her lifetime. She was a member of Carrollton First Presbyterian Church and Carroll Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 315. She married Glenn F. Stenger May 28, 1903, who survives and resides with Mrs. Maple. In addition to her husband and daughter, with whom she made her home, other survivors include three other daughters, Mrs. Irene Culver of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Geraldine Jones of Massillon and Hallie Vahalik of Harlem Springs; two sons, James of North Canton and Willard of Bergholz; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One son, four brothers and two sisters are deceased. Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Allmon Funeral Home here with Rev. H. David McCalmont officiating. Calling hours are Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Eastern Star services at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
