Family Closes School Departure of Six Pupils Leaves Only One in District Klamath Falls, Or., Jan 7 - When the family of Paul Sohrakoff moved, Horton school closed its doors, nor will the doors be reopened until another family the size of the Sohrakoffs moves into the community. Horton school, located in the eastern section of the county, was composed of seven pupils, six of these pupils were Sohrakoffs. The head of the Sohrakoff family decided to move, and consequently the young army of Sohrakoff Children was withdrawn from school, leaving one pupil to be instructed by the teacher, Miss Willetta Welch. The county school authorities concluded that the school could not be maintained for one pupil, so Miss Welch was transferred to a school in Upper Langwell valley. Sohrakoff, a native of Russia, died Sept. 19 in Marysville. Memorial services were conducted Sept. 20 in the Farnsworth Mortuary, Lincoln, and Sept. 21 in the Russian church in Sheridan. The funeral rites were held yesterday in the Sherdian church, with interment following at the Wheatland cemetery. Sohrakoff had lived with his wife, Anna, and family near Wheatland for more hthan 30 years. Prior to that he was a resident of Colusa County. In addition to his wife, he is survived by nine children and 19 grandchildren. Included among the children are: Mrs. Nelle Preston of Sheridan; Mrs. Minnie Popoff of Sacramento; John Sofrakoff of Wheatland; William Sohrakoff of Sacramento; Paul Sohrakoff Jr. of Santa Maria; Mrs. Vera Harvey of Sacramento; Mrs. Nette McCallison of Portland, Ore.; Nick Sohrakoff of Wheatland and Mrs. Dorothy Patellos of Sacramento.
