Beautiful flowers also testified in their mute way to the love and affection of many friends. Rev. M. A. Gable of Bedford, a former pastor preached the sermon. A special choir, Messars R. W. Criswell and H. R. Parker and Mesdames L. D. Austin and F. R. Chantry with Mrs. J. W. Baer as accompanist sang her favorite songs, one of which was "When I Walk With The King." Former service men Clayton Roberts, Lou Barkus, Randall Seaton, and Stewart Foster, acted as pall bearers. Eight young ladies former friends of the deceased acted as flower bearers. As our readers will remember, Mrs. Nordin's tragic death was very tragic. She was kicked by a horse at her home near Theodore, Sask., Canada, and although taken at once to a hospital at Yorktown and everything possible done for her, she was unable to survive. The remains were brought to Strahan to the home of her sister, Mrs. Wood Vestal Monday morning and brought to Malvern for the funeral services. Interment was made in the Malvern Cemetery. In addition to the obituary which we append, Mr. Gable in the services read extracts from a letter she had written her nephew, Clifford Bestal just the day preceding her death. It was a beautiful letter expressing, as it did, her pride in the young man's advancement and Christian character and her own firm faith and belief in her Christian life, which she so consistently lived. Pearl May McFarland, youngest daughter oof Mr. and Mrs. Martin Irvin McFarland, was born near Malvern, Iowa, November 22, 1890 and departed this life Tuesday, July 19, 1921, at Yorkton, Saskatchewan, aged 30 years, 7 moths, and 27 days. Was married to Sigurd Nordin, May 14, 1919, only two short years and a few months of happy married life. She leaves a sorrowing husband, father, mother, three sisters and two brothers, 3 nephews, and one niece and a host of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. She was always the light and life of her home, making friends wherever she went. She successfully taught several years of school in this vicinity, greatly loved by all her pupils. She united with the Malvern Methodist church, Easter Day, 1911, and has always spread sunshine and cheer wherever she went by her sweet disposition and Christian character. She passed most of her life in this county, teaching until 1919, when she was called to Ladysmith, Wisconsin, where her parents moved in 1918, by the illness of her mother and where she made her home until she moved to her late home in Theodore Saskatchewan. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. I. McFarland and sister Nora came from Conrath, Wisconsin and her sister, Mrs. Frank Crouse of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to attend the funeral.
