Born June 20, 1911, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Ralph Knowlton and Grace Pyle Crane. On Feb. 7, 1936, she married Stanley J. Looker. He died March 10, 1971. Read More	Ruth Knowlton Looker, 99, of Mount Pleasant died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. Born June 20, 1911, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Ralph Knowlton and Grace Pyle Crane. On Feb. 7, 1936, she married Stanley J. Looker. He died March 10, 1971. Mrs. Looker was a homemaker and worked part time at Spurgeons and J.C. Penney. She was a lifetime resident of Mount Pleasant and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and Iowa Wesleyan College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant where she served as Sunday school teacher, elder and deacon, and was a member of the Mariner's Group. She was a member of Founders' Chapter A of TTT, Chapter NZ of PEO, Beta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Mentor Club, Wednesday Club and Pleasantique Chapter of Questers. She served as a leader in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She volunteered 50 years for Midwest Old Threshers and served on Henry County Hospital Board and Iowa Wesleyan Alumni Board. She enjoyed needlepoint, craft work, playing bridge and time with family. Survivors include one son, Richard Looker of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Jean Potter of Walcott; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. No family visitation is planned. The funeral for Mrs. Looker will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Memorials have been established for First Presbyterian Church and Founders' Chapter A of TTT.
