Sarah Abel was born in Loudon Township, Carroll County, Ohio, April 9, 1821. She was consecrated to God in the sacrament of holy baptism in early infancy and received into full communion membership in her youth by the rite of confirmation. In November, 1857, she was united in marriage to Mr. Abraham Haun. This union was blessed with a son and daughter, Mr. William Haun of near Harlem and Mrs. S. M. Gotschall of Minerva, Ohio. Mrs. Haun's whole life was spent in the vicinity of Harlem and Kilgore, in which neighborhood she had many friends --indeed was held in high esteem by all who knew her. She remained a faithful member of the Lutheran Church all her life, and, being for a number of years unable to attend church, she received and delighted in ministry of word and sacrament in her home, as regularly as could be. We have every reason to rejoice in the hope a peaceful of resurrection for she surely fell asleep in her Savior. She departed this life Thursday, and was laid to rest in Kilgore Cemetery Saturday of last week. Her pastor tried to comfort the friends from Job, 14:14. She was aged 80 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Her aged husband, the son and daughter mentioned above, her son John Lewis, and many other relatives, beside many friends mourn, but not without hope.
