Description	:	Courtesy of Michael Allen Horn - Mrs. Susan Kirby died at her home in Perrysville last Thursday, after an illness of but five days with paralysis. Funeral services were held Sunday, in the U. B. church at that place and were conducted by Rev. Whitehair, assisted by Rev. Baker of the M. E. church. Burial was made in the U. B. cemetery, Perrysville. Mrs. Kirby was born in Harrisburg, Pa, Sept. 24, 1835, being a daughter of Daniel and Mary (Ensminger) Lawyer. She was married to Joseph Kirby, March 6, 1856. B. cemetery, Perrysville. Mrs. Kirby was born in Harrisburg, Pa, Sept. 24, 1835, being a daughter of Daniel and Mary (Ensminger) Lawyer. She was married to Joseph Kirby, March 6, 1856. To this union were born 11 children. Her husband and five children preceded her in death. The surviving children are: Mrs. Belle Shambaugh, Edith and Thomas M., of Perrysville, Mrs. Josephine Galbraith and Ralph L. Kirby of Carrollton and Otis H. Kirby of Frankfort, Kas. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Joseph and Susannah Kirby were among the charter members of the United Brethren church of Perrysville, and both remained members of that church until called to the Heavenly home, Mrs. Kirby being a member for 65 years. She was a kind mother, a good neighbor and always willing and ready to do for others. She realized her days were few and was ready when called. Her last words were: "It will soon be all right."
