Description	:	taken from "History of Brown County" by WH Beers & Co 1883 Thomas Hatfield was formerly from Pennsylvania. He was one of the earliest settlers in Adams/Brown County, Byrd Township. He with his family moved to Mason County, Kentucky, then to Ohio on West Fork in 1804, an unbroken wilderness. Thomas remained on this place the rest of his life, with his son, David. He had a family of 10 children: Thomas, Mary, John, Sarah, Martha, Jonas, Deborah, Elizabeth, Isom and David. Thomas married Martha "Markie" Adamson in 1782 in Gwynedd Township, Montgomery Co, Pennsylvania. taken from West Evans Cemetery book - Thomas Hatfield, a Rev. War soldier, and family are buried in the SW corner of the cemetery. In this section with Thomas and wife, Martha Adamson, is their son, David, his wife, Lettica, and their five children. Lettica was a daughter of John Middleton and Elizabeth West, daughter of John West and Eleanor Edwards. After Lettica's death, David married Matilda Middleswart. Their infant son is buried here. Matilda followed her family to Indiana after David's death and is buried in Greensburg, Indiana, according to the Ripley Bee of 17 Feb 1917. Thomas Hatfield's WILL is in Book 2, page 96, in Brown County, Ohio Probate Court. There is also a marriage record for Thomas Hatfield (80) and Anna Young (55) married 15 June 1840. Thomas died in 1843, 84 years.
