Description	:	Funeral services were held in Emerson in the Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. for Stuart Honeyman. Rev. Guy Fansha of Indianola and Rev. Lyman Smith of the Methodist Emerson Church conducted the seervice. Perryman-Nelson Mortuary were in charge of burial at the Emerson Cemetery. Alexander Stuart Honeyman was born December 31, 1882 in Emerson, the fourth son of John and Ella Cheney Honeyman. He spent his boyhood on the farm west of Emerson, graduating from Emerson High School in 1899. In 1905 he purchased a farm Southeast of Emerson where he and his bride, Alice Shaw of near Hasting, to whom he married in 1906, built a new home in which they lived 40 years, going to Red Oak in 1946. In June of this years his illness was discovered to be cancer of the lung and he went to his Heavenly Father on Friday, August 27, 1954. To share the joys and sorrows of this home were sent three children, Mrs. Lillian Brown of Eldora, Marvin Stuart of Wales and Ronald Dallas of Emerson. God has generously given to this family which always welcomed the, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. At the age of 15 he became a member of the Emerson Presbyterian Church, later becoming a trustee. He became a student of the bible and two of his grandsons have been asked to become ministers of the gospel. He was much interest in the law and also medicine, which he planned to make his life work until the death of his father when he was 15. Nevertheless, he made an outstanding success of that vocation of his generation, farming. Never swerving from most difficult tasks, never failing to aid and abet nature in guarding our soil. He worked excessively long hours to do the tasks that were needed with his excellent business sense, he conquered where others failed. To his "clan," his offspring, he was given a bit more of the art of friendliness, of honesty and integrity, of true courage and loyalty than the average person could expect to receive.
