Read More	Mrs. Ella Honeyman Died in Emerson on Last Saturday Lived In Mills County 75 years Funeral in Emerson Monday Afternoon Mrs. Ella Honeyman, one of tbe pioneer residents ot Mills county, passed away at her home in Emerson Saturday evening following an attack of pneumonia. She had been in poor health tor tbe past two years and was unable to withstand this dread disease. Mrs. Honeyman was among one of the oldes families in this area and live most of her life in and around Emerson. Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon and was widely attended by relatives and frinds form far and near for she was well and widely known. The services were conducted by Rev. Bruce West, a former pastor of Emerson, now of Davenport, who preached the sermon, assisted by Rev. L. E. Ripley, Methodist pastor who read scripture, and Rev. Joseph F. Stike, Baptist minister who offered prayer. Burial was in Emerson Cemetery. Ella V. Cheney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Cheney was born August 20, 1958 in Glenwood and died March 26, 1934. When a small child they moved to a farm here, which was her home the greater part of her life. She was married to John Honeyman March 15, 1878. After a short residence in Illinois, they returned to Emerson and located on the Honeyman Farm west of Emerson, which they developed into one of the best farms in this section. Eight children were born to them, John, Milton, Arthur, Steward, James, Robert, Warren, and Ella V. Pease. Milton, Arthur with the husband preceded her in death. The remaining survive and all were in attendance at the funeral. She is also survived by two brothers. Horace and Gilbert Cheney, 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, who with the numerous relatives and many friends mourn her passing. Mrs. Honeyman was a woman of marked abilities and strong character of the early pioneers. He husband died while the children were young and she kept the family together and brought them up and educated them to be upstanding citizens of the community. Her infulence was felt by all with whom she came in contact with and she was always for the interest of her home and community. She is one of the last of Mills Counties strong pioneer women to whom the county at large owes much. Malvern Leader, March 29, 1934, page 1 and 8
