Description	:	Barbara Helen Boyer heard her Creator's call to come home and peacefully left this world on February 17, 2015. Barbara H. Kladivo, first child of Frank & Irene Kladivo, was born in Parkersburg, IA. on July 5, 1924. She attended grammar school in Clutier, IA & high school in Traer, IA. On August 5, 1943 she graduated from Gates College and began working at the Waterloo, IA Chamber of Commerce. Barbara met her future husband, Lynn Boyer, Jr., at a dance and married June 21, 1944. Read More	Barbara Helen Boyer heard her Creator's call to come home and peacefully left this world on February 17, 2015. Barbara H. Kladivo, first child of Frank & Irene Kladivo, was born in Parkersburg, IA. on July 5, 1924. She attended grammar school in Clutier, IA & high school in Traer, IA. On August 5, 1943 she graduated from Gates College and began working at the Waterloo, IA Chamber of Commerce. Barbara met her future husband, Lynn Boyer, Jr., at a dance and married June 21, 1944. So began lifelong adventures for the small town girl from IA. Upon conclusion of WWII, her husband was stationed In Guam. She along with her first two sons, Lynn III & Timothy, began the trek to join him. While en route from San Francisco they encountered a typhoon and safely ported in Hawaii. As the initial contingent of dependents to arrive on Guam, they were provided Quonset huts for living quarters. Upon completion of this tour it was off to Japan. Now she began her long and successful career as a federal civil servant. In 1951 she returned to the United States and planted roots in Sacramento, never to move again. Next came her third and fourth sons, Larry & Matthew, while concurrently continuing her career. Barbara completed a distinguished thirty-plus year career and retired from McClellan AFB. Two of her favorite career stories were: transcribing Gen. McArthur's air strike and Inchon landing orders for the Korean War and establishing the Handicapped/Disabled Program at McClellan AFB then hiring the employees to fill those positions. Throughout her life she and Lynn, Jr. continued their adventures seeing Europe, Australia, Africa, the South Pacific, India, China and the US of A. She leaves four sons: Lynn III (Katherine), Timothy (Janice), Larry (Ann) and Matthew (Linda); eight grandchildren: Lynn IV (Beth), Christian (Mary), Rebecca, Jeremy, Hilary (Juan), Audrey, Ethan, and Emmett; six great grandchildren: Alex, Ned, Kara, Matthew, Caroline and Kate and one other special person, Brenda. Too soon did she pass, this one that we loved. But we know she looks down and smiles on us from heaven above. Semper dilectus dilexit, mater nostra.
