Description	:	Carol Jean King, age 80, of Archbold passed away peacefully Monday, May 6, 2013 in her room at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. Carol was born on March 17, 1933 in Archbold, Ohio to Sylvan R. Short and Pluma (Yoder) Short. She grew up on a farm two miles west of Archbold. Carol graduated from Archbold High School in 1951. Carol worked as a waitress at Lugbill's Restaurant and did payroll for the restaurant and Lugbill's grocery. She also worked at Ruffer's Market in Archbold. Carol was born on March 17, 1933 in Archbold, Ohio to Sylvan R. Short and Pluma (Yoder) Short. She grew up on a farm two miles west of Archbold. Carol graduated from Archbold High School in 1951. Carol worked as a waitress at Lugbill's Restaurant and did payroll for the restaurant and Lugbill's grocery. She also worked at Ruffer's Market in Archbold. On October 15, 1952 she married Marlin King. They were married for 23 ½ years. She was a member of West Clinton Mennonite Church in Pettisville. Carol had been a homemaker and liked to sew, garden and bake. Many were the recipients of her cookies and notes of encouragement over the years. Later she worked at Das Essen Haus and Bernath's in the bakery department. Surviving are her children: Terry (Donna) King, Archbold, Patsy (Doug) Unruh, Perryton, TX and Rhonda (Ken) Nafziger, Maynardville, TN. Also surviving are grandchildren: Kristi (Russ) Miehls, Phil (Natalie) King, Scott (Kelsey) King, Monte (Jana) Unruh, Lisa (Kyle) Beun, CJ (financé Billy Byler) Unruh, Eric (Iris) Nafziger, Jeremy (Kim) Nafziger, Ryan (Amanda) Nafziger and Jennell (Eric) Vallance and great-grandchildren: Evan, Owen, Tobin and Braylin King, Shauna and Maddy Miehls, Brennan Unruh, Kensley Beun, Elyanah, Silas, Mia, Kaden, Lyla, Marlin, Kendall, Hadlee, Jake Nafziger and Kenlee Vallance. A brother Merle (Charlene) Short and sister-in-law Donna Short also survive. Preceding her in death besides her parents, were her husband Marlin, son Kurt, daughters Jill and Kay and brother Don Short.
