Flowerladies will be Mrs. Velma Hauser, Mrs. C. R. Roelfsema, Mrs. Ezra Hiestand and Mrs. Wayne Kinney. Mrs. Robert Hauser will be organist. Mr. Vinton was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Grundy Center, son of Glenn and Florence Vinton. He received his education the Whitten Consolidated and was married on Oct.24, 1944, to Betty Bailey at Marysville, Kan. He entered the United States Air Force in January, 1944, and served four years with duty in England and Germany. He was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. A long time truck operator, he was active in community affairs, serving as a volunteer fireman for may years. He served as Whitten Town marshal from 1958 until the time of his death and was a member of the Grundy County Sheriff's Reserves. Surviving are his wife; five children, Craig Richard of Conrad, Paul Dean of Eden Valley, Minn., and Gary Wayne, Becky Ann and Lorri Jeanne, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Florence Vinton of Whitten; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Gladys) Decker of Grundy Center and Mrs. Marvin (Marilyn ) Tuttle of Marshalltown; and four brothers, Donald of St. Cloud, Minn., and Dale, Merle and Robert, all of Whitten. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Clifford, and two sisters, Wilma and June, who died in infancy.
