His obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, April 9, 1953. David Brown Trushel, 63, of Carrollton died at Crile Veterans Hospital, Cleveland, on Monday, April 6. He had been ill for three weeks with a heart ailment. He was a miner and carpenter by trade. He was born March 23, 1890, son of the late David and Charlotte (Brown) Trushel of Carroll County. Married to Susan Masters on July 31, 1924, he had lived his entire life in Carroll County. He was a member of the Harlem Springs Methodist Church, Carroll Lodge F & A.M., Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Survivors include; a brother, Thomas H. Trushel of Akron, one sister, Mrs. Roy Champer of Route 4, Carrollton. Services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Allmon Funeral Home with Rev. R. A. Marty officiating. Interment will be made in the Harlem Springs Cemetery.
