She was born at Harlem Springs, October 4, 1864, the daughter of David and Elizabeth Jane Brown. Mrs. Trushel was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are two sons, D. B. Trushel of Carrollton and T. H. Trushel of Akron; one daughter, Mrs. Roy Champer of Carrollton; two brothers, A. C. and William H. Brown of Harlem Springs and one sister, Zella Brown of Harlem Springs. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home with Rev. J. F. Cash, of the Carrollton Methodist Episcopal Church, officiating. Services were later held at the Harlem Springs Methodist Church with Rev. C. B. Stephens in charge. Burial was made in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
