He was born Nov. 11, 1922 at Ness City, the son of Clemens and Amelia Sieb Boos. Mr. Boos was a carman for Santa Fe Railways. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korena War. He lived in Topeka since the 1920s. Mr. Boos was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was married to Mary Agnes Stein June 9, 1947 in Topeka. She died Nov. 4, 1983. Two sons also preceded him in death, Gary Boos on Dec. 1, 1982 and Timothy Boos on April 11, 1965. Survivors include four daughters, Pamela Johnson, Annette Hackett and Mary Burns, all of Topeka, and Amelia Boos, Overbrook; six sons, Edgar J. Boos Jr., Michael Boos, Clem Boos, Raymond Boos, Larry Boos and Steven Boos, all of Topeka; four sisters, Helen Browne, Margaret Artzer, Barbara Harman and Theresa Strecker, all of Topeka; two brothers, Don Boos, Blue Springs, Mo., and James Boos, Topeka; 21 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Boos will lie in state from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday at Brennan Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
