Read More	EFFIE SUSAN HOWELL Was born in Corro (sic) Gordo, Pratt county (sic), Illinois, on the 7th day of February, 1872, and died at her home near Nelson, Nebraska, September 21, 1915, at the age of 43 years, 7 months and 14 days. In 1874 she moved to Nebraska with her parents, locating on a farm near the center of Saline county (sic), where she grew to young womanhood. In her girlhood days she was a faithful and regular attendant at a country church and Sunday school in which she took a deep interest. During the winter of 1889, in a revival meeting, she was genuinely converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church (sic). This important event in her life greatly increased her usefulness in the church and gave her a greater desire to do active Christian service. She remained a faithful member of the Methodist church and at the time of her death she was a member of the church in Angus. On January 11th, 1893, deceased was united in marriage to Thomas M. Wilson, in Wilber, Saline county (sic), Nebraska. To this union were born three sons: Floyd E., Wilbur A., and Russell O., all of whom survive her. For fourteen years they made their home in Saline county (sic), and in 1907 they moved to Nuckolls county (sic) and located on what is known as the old Vatreese farm, where they have since made their home. During much of the time, in later years, deceased endured much pain and suffering, all of which was born patiently and without complaint. She did not tell others all of her trials but rather preferred to conceal them as much as possible from her loved ones. Her life was that of a consistent Christian. Her death was peaceful and triumphant and intense suffering. In her closing moments she had close communion and intense fellowship with her Heavenly Father to whom she offered petitions for blessing upon herself, her many friends and those dearest to her. She passed from earthly scenes, repeating the following first stanza of her favorite song: "When I survey the wondrous cross On Which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gains I count but loss And pour contempt on all my pride." There remain to mourn hear early death, a devoted and beloved husband, three sons, three brothers, four sisters, a large number of more distant relatives, and a host of sorrowing and sympathizing friends.
