She was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Gridley, as the first of 10 children to Andrew Martin French and Silvia (Asay) French, and she spent her early years on the family's small farm near Live Oak. Following the familys relocation to Lincoln, she attended schools there. She married Kenneth Baldwin in 1938 and the couple had two children. Read More	Elnora Baldwin died of natural causes Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, in Lincoln. She was 91. She was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Gridley, as the first of 10 children to Andrew Martin French and Silvia (Asay) French, and she spent her early years on the family's small farm near Live Oak. Following the familys relocation to Lincoln, she attended schools there. She married Kenneth Baldwin in 1938 and the couple had two children. In 1943, the young family settled in Wilseyville, where Mr. Baldwin had taken a logging job with Associated Lumber and Box. A housewife, Mrs. Baldwin was active in the community, her children's schools and activities and her church. She enjoyed ever-larger family reunions in Lincoln each Easter, camping at Lake Tahoe over the Fourth of July holiday week and spending time with her wide circle of friends. Following the death of her husband in 1994, she returned to Lincoln to be close to the many siblings who had remained there to raise families of their own. She is survived by her siblings, Ronald, Evonne and Robert French; a son, Tom (Suzanne) Baldwin; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Baldwin and her daughter, Lois Baldwin, in 2007. There will be no services. Instead, her life will be celebrated on the 92nd anniversary of her birth, Saturday, Sept. 7, in Lincoln. The family prefers memorial gifts be made to Bristol Hospice, which lovingly and expertly managed her final days, or to the charity of the donors choice.
