A retired carpenter, he was employed for many years by the former Ottumwa Mill and Construction Co. He was born Sept. 3, 1900, at Moravia, the son of Lou and Effie Johnson Gollaher. Her served in both the Army and the Navy following World War I. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union. He was married to Mildred Barnhill on Jan. 26, 1924, in Ottumwa. She survives.
