Description : Jacob Eckert Sr. was born in Prussia, Germany, Feb. 14, 1830, and died May 20, 1905. When a boy of nineteen, he moved with his parents to America, locating at Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Having remained there for three years, he came to Kansas and located on a farm in Atchison County, where he lived for forty-two years. In June 1901, retiring from farm life, he moved to Arrington, Kansas where his closing years were spent.
