Description	:	Margaret was the third child of Jacob and Julia (Gliem) Eckert. She was born 2 September 1864 in Atchison county, Kansas and departed this life 3 May 1917; age 53 years and eight months. Although an invalid all her life, she was of a happy and cheerful disposition. Everyone was greeted with a cheerful smile and a friendly voice. She was born 2 September 1864 in Atchison county, Kansas and departed this life 3 May 1917; age 53 years and eight months. Although an invalid all her life, she was of a happy and cheerful disposition. Everyone was greeted with a cheerful smile and a friendly voice. She was especially devoted to her mother, for whom she was ever solicitious with tender and thoughtful care, markedly so after the death of her father, Jacob Eckert, twelve years ago. Since her father's death, Jane as she was lovingly called throughout the community, and her mother lived alone in Arrington. When a young child, Jane turned to Christ, and later dedicated herself to Him, whos spirit so fully dominated her life. Funeral services were held at the Arrington church at ten o'clock Saturday morning. Mr. Charles Hardin, funeral director and Rev. Frank Richard, both close friends of the family, were in charge of the services. The high esteem in which she was held was evidenced by the extraordinary number of people attending. The body was taken to Muscotah for burial. Besides her mother, two brothers, Jacob and John, and two sisters, Louisa Nevins and Mary Patton survive. Margaret does not have a marker.
