Description	:	James served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He enlisted as a private on October 8, 1862 at the age of 25. He enlisted in Company K, 43rd Infantry Regiment Ohio. He mustered out on August 18, 1863 in Columbus, Ohio. He applied for a pension on November 1879, file #32096217. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Wrikeman on January 17, 1867 in Jefferson County, Ohio. Also living with him was his Neice Estella age 18 born in Ohio and William age 9 born in Ohio, they were children of James brother, Robert Albaugh. In the 1900 census James and his family were living in Loudon Twp., Carroll County, Ohio. James was listed as 63 born June 1836 in Ohio, his wife Mary E. age 59 born September 1840 in Ohio, sons Silvester M. age 25 born March 1875 in Ohio, Burton E. age 22 born February 1878 in Ohio and Cyrus A. age 18 born January 1882 in Ohio. In the 1920 census James was was living with his son James Jr. in Carroll County, Ohio 14/76/7/15. He was listed as James Sr. age 83 born in Ohio. His obituary in the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, November 12, 1926. James Albaugh, one of Carroll County last Civil War Veterans, and the last one of Loudon Township, passed away suddenly at the home of his daughter in Jewett, Thursday last. Burial was made at Kilgore, Saturday, the services being conducted by Rev. Messrs. Stewart of Jewett and Elliott of Amsterdam. Mr. Albaugh served in Co. K, 43rd O. V. I. during the Civil War. He was in his 90th year, and was the father of seven children. His wife and two sons, Nelson and Burton, preceded him in death. He is survived by four sons, William of Florida. He was a native of Loudon Township.
