McIntire, 75, of Lee Township, died Thursday afternoon, January 3, in Mercy Hospital following an operation one week ago. Mr. McIntire was a life-long resident of Carroll County and one of the largest land owners. He was a member of Harlem Springs Presbyterian Church and Harlem Springs grange. Mr. McIntire was born in Lee Township on November 9, 1859. He was married to Miss Lydia Cogsil of Harlem Springs on November 9, 1882. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lydia McIntire; four daughters, Mrs. May Simmons, Mrs. Ruth Tope and Mrs. Pauline Winnings of Harlem Springs and Mrs. Hazel Stenger of Amsterdam; four sons, Fred of Kilgore, Frank of Amsterdam, Robert of Leavittsville and Ralph of Harlem Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Alice McClave and Mrs. Emma Tinlin, both of Akron, and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon with Rev. B. J. Yorke officiating. Burial was made in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
