On July 5, 1929, he was united in married to Miss Pearl Merryman, who survives him together with a son, James Eugene, his parents, a brother John, and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Gallaher of Harlem Springs. As we look back over our years spent in Carrollton high School we find there are some students who stand out in our memories for their cooperation, interest in the school activities, genial disposition and courteous behavior. such a student was James R. George, who graduated from Carrollton high School with the class of 27. He was an earnest student, admired and respected by his teachers, popular with the student body, and always anxious to do the thing which he knew to be right. On account of his school spirit and enthusiasm, he was chosen cheerleader for two successive years. He was one of those students who was always interested in all high school activities and whose aim was to uphold the good name of the school. We feel that in the death of James George we have lost a true and loyal friend, the school a loyal alumnus, and the community a worthy citizen. Our sympathy goes out to his wife and son, his parents, his brother and sister, and to all who knew him as a friend.
