Description	:	James Upton Neely, of Gettysburg, departed this life, April 18. He was a son of the late George and Maude Maxell Neely. Mr. Neely graduated from Gettysburg High School and had a business degree from La Salle University. He was employed as an agent and telegraph operator of the former Western Maryland Railroad for 30 years. He was a Sunday school superintendent, deacon and elder of the Lower Marsh Creek Church, Gettysburg, before joining the Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg, where he served as Sunday school superintendent. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
