He was listed as age 38 born August 1861 in Ohio, his wife Martha E. age 35 born August 1864, their children listed were; Bessie G. age 16 born November 1883, Edna L. age 13 born January 1887 and Otto W. age 10 born October 1889, all were born in Ohio. His obituary in the Carroll Journal, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, June 23, 1938. John B. McIntire, 78, retired farmer, died Friday, June 17, after a year's illness at the home of his son, Otto McIntire of near Harlem Springs, with whom he had lived for two years. Mr. McIntire was a member of the Harlem Springs Presbyterian Church, and was a native of Jefferson County. Other survivors include his widow, Mattie; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Hendricks of Akron and Mrs. Edna Richards of Amsterdam, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the residence, with later services in Harlem Springs Presbyterian Church, Rev. B. J. Yorke, his pastor, officiating. Interment was in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
