Description	:	April 15, 1920 May 5, 2017 Josephine Bolen passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at her home in Roseville. Born in Strasburg, North Dakota, Josephine moved to Sacramento at the age of 16 and worked at Libbys cannery. She was 97 when she died. Josephine Bolen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years John Bolen and son John J. Bolen. She is survived by her children Richard Bolen, Don Bolen, Diana Bolen Neal and Debra Bolen Enos. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is survived by her children Richard Bolen, Don Bolen, Diana Bolen Neal and Debra Bolen Enos. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Josephine is also survived by her sister Rose Ratekin of Sacramento and many nieces and nephews. Jo, as she was called by her friends, taught cooking in 4H and was active in Girl Scouts. Her many interests included playing bridge, golfing, knitting, crocheting, painting, pottery making, reading and traveling. She was a wonderful loving mother who lived in Woodland for 50 years and moved to Roseville for the remainder of her life. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave., Citrus Heights.
