He was born September 25, 1924, at Archbold, the son of Elmer and Magdalena (King) Rychener. He married Marie Buehrer on June 12, 1949, and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2010. Rychener, age 94 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday evening, October 22, 2018, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. He was born September 25, 1924, at Archbold, the son of Elmer and Magdalena (King) Rychener. He married Marie Buehrer on June 12, 1949, and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2010. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he began his career as a bulldozer operator before he became farm manager for Lugbill Brothers, Inc., before retiring in 1992. He enjoyed southern gospel music, making ice cream, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church. He is survived by nine children, David (Joyce) Rychener of Tucson, AZ; Susan (Dan) Neff, Phil (Terri) Rychener, Ann Litwiller, and Dan (Janette) Rychener, all of Archbold; Rev. Calvin (Susan) Rychener of Peoria, IL; Donnie Rychener of Archbold; Betty (Greg) Rahrer of Fort Wayne, IN; and Brenda (Andres) Peterson of Archbold; a son-in-law, David Blosser of Waynesville, NC; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor McMunn of Archbold. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Carol Blosser; a son-in-law, Gary Litwiller; two grandsons, Christopher Rychener and Tristan Lewis; five brothers, Earl, Dale, Nelson, Carl, and Edwin; and four sisters, Loueen Wyse, Velma Rychener, Irene Frey, and Ada Ferguson. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 25, at 11 a.m., at the Archbold Evangelical Church with Pastor Calvin Rychener officating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel from 2-8 p.m., on Wednesday. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggests that memorials be given to Archbold Evangelical Church or Fairlawn Haven.
