Louetta was born on September 12, 1924 to Lloyd J. and Minnie (Frey) Miller at home on the family farm on County Road B. She has a younger brother, and sister. Miller, age 89 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday evening, November 4, 2013, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. Louetta was born on September 12, 1924 to Lloyd J. and Minnie (Frey) Miller at home on the family farm on County Road B. She has a younger brother, and sister. Louetta began attending the Pettisville School in 1930, a year after it opened. Her schooling ended when she was 16 and she soon went to work for her aunt Amanda Frey at Archbold Dry Goods. Louetta attended the West Clinton Mennonite Church her whole life and was Baptized on April 12, 1936. At a young age, she took a 6-week Bible School course in Canada, and then taught at Vacation Bible Schools in Ohio and other states as far as Missouri. She was also a Sunday School Teacher at her church for years, and was always involved in some church activities whether it was with children or quilting with the ladies. Her mother passed away in 1962 and later her father married Ada King. Louetta had lived at home but soon after her dad remarried, she moved to the small rental house next to her parents. In the early 1980's, Louetta took classes at Four County Joint Vocational School and graduated with her GED, then took 5 college classes at Northwest Technical College. Louetta became part owner of the Dry Goods store and when her aunt retired, she became the sole owner of Archbold Dry Goods. In 1978, she was elected President of the Archbold Retail Merchants Association. Over the years, Louetta did a lot of reading and traveled quite a lot. In 1993, she took a trip with her brother Lawrence to Europe visiting their cousins in France and toured several other countries. Even when the store was sold, Louetta continued to do her tailor work in the store and at her home until moving to Assisted Living in 2005. Then in May of 2010 she became a resident of Fairlawn Haven. Louetta enjoyed being around people and attended all the religious and musical programs provided in the nursing home. She is survived by a brother, Lawrence (Marjora) Miller of Haven Apartments in Archbold; a sister, Martha (John) Herr of Holtwood, PA; her step-mother, Ada Miller of Archbold; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Orville; and an infant sister, Ruth. Interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery.
