Funeral services were held Friday at the McLeod Mortuary chapel in Escondido. Private committal services were held at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Funeral services were held Friday at the McLeod Mortuary chapel in Escondido. Private committal services were held at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Mary Harris was born March 12, 1891, in Fort Benton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Harris, Sr., Montana pioneers. Her father came west in 1858, was at Bannack and Virginia City at the time of the gold strikes in the 1860s. He moved to Fort Benton in 1872, next year went into the cattle business as well as becoming manager of the Conrad Circle Cattle Co. Her mother, Addie Berry, was born in Alder Gulch in 1867, married Mr. Harris at Highwood in 1885. Mary Harris attended schools in Fort Benton and St. Mary's Hall, Faribault, Minn. She married James Wilson at the home of her parents here Thanksgiving day, Nov. 27, 1913. Mr. Wilson at the time was civil engineer for the Milwaukee Railway, building through Chouteau county that year. The couple soon after moved to Seattle. In later years his occupation took them to South America, Alaska, Cuba and Jamaica, before Mr. and Mrs. Wilson settled down on a citrus farm at Escondido. Survivors include her husband; a brother, Howell Harris of Highwood, and ten nieces and nephews.
