Ray is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus who was such a big part of his life here on earth. Ray had a huge impact on his family through the love and support he provided to each one of them. He was born on June 12, 1933, in Streeter, ND to Christ & Emma Bitterman who proceeded him in death. Ray was also predeceased by his son, Randy Bitterman. Ray is survived by his wife Ruth, married for 40 years this past June (the family celebrated it with a special party), and his children, Lori Aldwell (Fran), step-children, Mike Hilder (Kevin), Brenda Bisharat (Charlie), Mark Hilder (Coral). Loving grand-father to Sydney, Pearse, Ian, Caitlin, Emma, Aja, Mackenzie, Karson, Beau, Sam, Casey and four great grandkids, his sister Darlene Bowen, nephews Ken Allen, Glen, Van & their families. Ray moved to Sacramento as a young boy and attended local schools. Ray graduated from McClatchy HS, Sacramento City College and San Jose State. He then served our nation in the Army. Ray was a very proud patriot and had a passion for all those who served. Every Thanksgiving he made sure to include all Military service members in our prayers. Ray worked for a number a companies including Aerojet, Litton Industries, Sperry Univac and HP. He was a sales professional of computer systems to business and government for over 30 years. Ray was very proud of the fact that he often sold the very first computer system ever installed in many organizations. Ray excelled at sales and was one of the top performers in his company receiving many special awards. Ray retired from HP in 1998. This did not slow him down because he went on to run a successful business with his partner in Bingo and property management. Ray also had a passion for service and was a volunteer and officer in the Country Club Optimists for the past 35 years. He loved the mission of the Optimist in serving the kids in our community. Ray also loved to play golf with his and Ruth's many friends at North Ridge CC. They were also fortunate to travel together to Kauai each year as well as many trips to other parts of the world. He especially enjoyed organizing and hosting trips where he could spend time with the whole family. Ray will be missed by all who knew him. We love you Ray! A memorial will be held on October 4 at 2pm at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, 11427 Fair Oaks Boulevard, Fair Oaks, CA , where he was a member for many years. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Ray's passion for kids, we ask you make donations in his name to either the Jesuit High School Scholarship fund or the Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church Youth Building project. He will be privately interned at the Fair Oaks Cemetery.
