Description	:	Rev. Henry Wyse, 91, Archbold, died Tuesday afternoon, October 1,1985, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. He had been a patient at the center for one day. Born in Archbold April 3, 1894, he was the son of Samuel and Magdalena (Nafziger) Wyse. He had resided in the Archbold area throughout most of his lifetime. When the Mennonite churches... Read More	Rev. Henry Wyse, 91, Archbold, died Tuesday afternoon, October 1,1985, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. He had been a patient at the center for one day. Born in Archbold April 3, 1894, he was the son of Samuel and Magdalena (Nafziger) Wyse. He had resided in the Archbold area throughout most of his lifetime. On April 15, 1915, he was married to Lydia Frey, and she preceded him in death in 1979. In 1933 he was ordained a deacon in the Mennonite Church, and in 1938 he was ordained a minister. When the Mennonite churches in the community became separate congregations in 1944, the Rev. Wyse was minister of the Central congregation. From 1950 to 1955 he was bishop of the area Mennonite churches. At various times he served as interim pastor of several churches, including the Bancroft Mennonite Church in Toledo and churches in Detroit, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the Central Mennonite Church. Surviving are three sons, Ora and Mahlon both of Archbold, and Ervin of Dundee, Michigan; five daughters, Mary (Ted) Walborn of Wauseon, Mrs. Alta Short of Archbold, Carol (Lloyd) Neuenschwander of Berne, Indiana, Doris (Cecil); 2 Albrecht of Woodburn, Indiana and Valetta (Duane) Miller of Midland, Michigan; 28 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
