Description	:	Richard “Dick” E. Frey, 83, of Wauseon, OH passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 11, 2017 at Fulton Manor in Wauseon, OH. He was born April 3, 1934 in Wauseon to Simon and Verna (Beck) Frey. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen Jane Prowant. They were married on June 4, 1955 in Continental, OH. Frey, 83, of Wauseon, OH passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 11, 2017 at Fulton Manor in Wauseon, OH. He was born April 3, 1934 in Wauseon to Simon and Verna (Beck) Frey. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen Jane Prowant. They were married on June 4, 1955 in Continental, OH. He served two years in 1W service in the Cleveland, OH area. Upon returning to his home community, Dick began working at Liechty Farm Equipment, Archbold, OH. Dick had positions of mechanic and salesman, retiring in 1999. Dick continued working part time with Liechty’s until 2011. Dick additionally followed his love of farming on his own property in rural Wauseon where he farmed and raised feeder pigs with his family. Throughout Dick’s lifetime, he enjoyed spending time with his family doing various activities such as hunting, golfing and vacations, especially at Little Eden Camp. Dick appreciated anything related to John Deere collectibles. Dick knew no strangers and enjoyed having conversations with many people, especially over a cup of coffee. Dick was able to watch his grandchildren participate in many of their activities, such as sports, music and agriculture, while they were growing up. Dick enjoyed singing and participated in a gospel quartet for many years. Dick and Ellen were blessed with five children: Richard, Jr.(Angela) of Sylvania, OH; Jack, deceased (Carol) of Wauseon; Fred (Elaine) of West Unity, OH; Mary Jane (MJ) of Goshen, IN; Wendell, deceased; 6 grandchildren: Alex (Tanner), Katie, Lincoln, Dominic, Sarah and Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol. Burial will be at Pettisville Cemetery Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 am with a celebration of life service following at 11:00 am at West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon, OH. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family requests memorial donations to go to the West Clinton Mennonite Compassion Fund, Gideon Bible Society, or Mennonite Central Committee.
