William A. "Windy" Yeager, 67, of 703 North High Street, Carrollton died Monday in Timken Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born October 27, 1919 in Scroggsfield, a son of the late Allen and Pearl (Blazer) Yeager. A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church and the Carroll County Veterans Club. He was retired in 1983 from the Republic Steel Company plant in Canton where he had worked for 33 years and retired last December 31 from the Carrollton police department where he had worked part-time for 22 years. He was married November 27, 1947 to the former Nellie I. Moreland, who survives, along with four sons, David and Brian, both of Carrollton, Jeff of Dover and Bruce of Minerva; three daughters, Mrs. John (Sandra) Turkovich of Brazoria, Texas, Mrs. Larry (Linda) Barnhart and Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Talbert, both of Cadiz; five brothers, Donald, Ralph, and Dean, all of Harlem Springs, Thomas of Louisville, and John of Carrollton; two sisters, Maxine Yeager and Mrs. Harold (Mary) White, both of Harlem Springs, and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home in Carrollton with Rev. Robert Stover officiating. Burial will be in Harlem Springs Cemetery. Calling hours were held this Wednesday afternoon and evening.
