Description	:	Ada M. Miller, age 97 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. She was born December 22, 1918 in Fulton County, Ohio to Simon and Katie (Wyse) King. The family lived south east of Pettisville and her father was a farmer. Ada worked on the farm, was a paper hanger for other families, raised geese and plucked them to make feather pillows, then sold the geese. She also picked strawberries for Sylvan Rupp, a neighbor, for wages of two cents a quart, and picked 200 quarts a day. That gave her 2 dollars... Read More	Ada M. Miller, age 97 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. She was born December 22, 1918 in Fulton County, Ohio to Simon and Katie (Wyse) King. The family lived south east of Pettisville and her father was a farmer. Ada worked on the farm, was a paper hanger for other families, raised geese and plucked them to make feather pillows, then sold the geese. She also picked strawberries for Sylvan Rupp, a neighbor, for wages of two cents a quart, and picked 200 quarts a day. That gave her 2 dollars a day, which was more than some men made working away from home. The family attended West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville where Ada was baptized and taught children Sunday School. In September of 1962 Ada married Lloyd Miller. Lloyd had a woodworking shop at his home¸ and Ada helped him assemble furniture. They also bought a loom, and for a number of years she wove rugs. Shortly after they were married they started going to Pleasant Ridge Dunkard Brethren Church, and Ada continued going there after Lloyd died. Lloyd passed away in March of 1975. In June, 1980 her father passed away and her mother went to live with Ada a few months later. They lived together until December, 1986, when her mother died. Ada stayed on the Miller farm until October, 1992, and then moved to Pettisville where she kept busy with a large garden, flower beds, and her loom. In July of 2007 she moved to Fairlawn. Ada is survived by stepson Lawrence Miller; step-son in-law John Herr; 2 brothers, Lawrence King, Lester and his wife Marge (Burkholder) King and sister-in-law, Rhoda (Frey) King. Also by many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and even more nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, two step daughters, Louetta Miller, and Martha (Miller) Herr. Also by a brother and his wife, Willard (Grace Schmucker) King and also a brother Kenneth. A sister, Martha and sister-in-law Berneda (Short) King. Services will be held on Saturday at 3 PM at the Fairlawn Chapel with visitation from 12 – 3 PM on Saturday at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery.
