Description	:	I have searched for any cemetery records to see just when the people were interred in the Dowane (Harding) family plot and to see who ordered the headstones and nothing has come to light. If anyone knows who I can contact please don't hesitate to contact me. Amy was born in Washington Territory to Morris De Lafayette Dowane and Elizabeth Marshall. The date of death is not correct on her stone. We have family letters written by Amy and her sister Fanny showing they were both alive in 1871 and another letter written to Morris, Amy's father, by Uncle Jacob in August of 1873 reflecting on the deaths of Fanny and Amy.. therefore Amy and Fanny both died before March of 1873. Amy was married for a short time to John R. Harding and is the Mother of Annie Elizabeth Harding Gardella. Amy is buried in her Dowane Family Plot which as it turns out was actually purchased by John Richmond Harding, Amys husband, when Amy died. The only way we knew about Amy was from a Genealogy paper written by Amy's Granddaughter, Amy Katherine Gardella Wyman (my Grandmother) for Local Historian and Friend Jim Lague. Later on I found the original Marriage License proving John and Amy's marriage. it is quite fragile. Grandmother said her mother (Annie) was just a baby when Amy died thus another piece proving the date on the stone is incorrect. Amy and John were married married March 6, 1871 at her fathers ranch in Yuba Co., by John M. Ward, Minister of the Gospel. Amy and her mother, Elizabeth both had children very close in age. Annie was born December 10, 1871 and Amy's sister Sarah Francis Dowane was born December 17, 1871. After Amy's death, John Harding remarried to Sara Rowe on July 8, 1876. Sara became the only mother Annie Elizabeth ever knew. I read a letter that Annie had written to her Grandparents, Morris and Elizabeth and it broke my heart..she had not seen them since she was a baby and said that she would not be able to recognize them.
