In disposition, naturally quiet and retiring. A fine home loving woman. This was in the Carroll Free Press, Carrollton, Ohio, Wednesday, March 2, 1881. Mrs. Catherine Albaugh, one of the oldest citizens of the township, is lying at the point of death from a stroke of palsy. According to the Carroll County death records, Vol. 1, page 94, #1/20, she died of Paralysis on November 8, 1881, in Kilgore, Loudon Twp., Carroll County, Ohio. It also listed Maryland as her birth State. Her obituary in the Carroll Free Press, Carrollton, Ohio, Wednesday, November 16, 1881. Mrs. Catherine Albaugh, of Loudon Township, and widow of William Albaugh, departed this life at her own home on Tuesday of last week of paralysis and dropsy, and was interred in the graveyard at the M. E. Church in Kilgore, on Wednesday. She was nearly 84 years old and one of the oldest resident of that Township. She was the mother of nine children, eight of whom survive her. LEGAL NOTICE-----Sarah Yenne, Levina Simmons and Daniel Simmons her husband and Samuel Albaugh, who reside at Shoals, in Martin County, Indiana, will take notice that Bazel Albaugh, executor of the last will and testament of William Albaugh, deceased, on the 15th day of November, A.D. 1881, filed his petition in the Probate Court with in and for the county of Carroll and State of Ohio, alleging that certain of the real estate of which the said decedent died seized is by the provisions of his said will, charged with his debts and funeral expenses, and that the personal estate of said decedent is insufficient to pay the same and the costs of administering his estate, which real estate is bounded and described as follows: Situate in Carroll County, Ohio, and being the South part of the North-West quarter of Section six (6), in Township twelve (12) of Range five (%), in the Steubenville Land District; being all of said quarter section, except 100 acres of the North side thereof devised by the said William Albaugh, deceased to his sons Bazel Albaugh and Eli Albaugh in the 4th and 5th items of his will, containing 68 acres more or less. The prayer of said petition is for a sale of said premises for the payment of the debts and charges aforesaid, and such other relief to which said plaintiff is entitled in the premises. The persons first above mentioned will further take notice that they have been made parties defendant to said petition, and that they are required to answer the same on or before Saturday, the 7th day of January, A.D. 1882. BAZEL ALBAUGH, Executor as aforesaid.
