July 27, the death angel entered the home of Mr. Daniel Burrier and carried away the beautiful spirit of Ross Burrier. During his sickness he was very patient and was never heard to murmur. When ________ that death was near he used his remaining strength in telling his friends now to live and meet him in heaven. He desired to live for his mother's sake, but was ready to die. "Thy will, O Lord, not mine be done." When he knew that he must die he had no fear but with gentleness and patience followed the leading of the "Great Shepherd" who gave his life for his sheep. His favorite hymn was: Jesus, I my cross have taken, All to leave and follow thee. Earnest, kind and thoughtful, he was indeed a trustworthy friend. He scarcely thought of himself, but was always planning how to help others. His mother can well say "There are not many boys as kind as Ross was." He was the light and the joy of his home. Ross made many friends among the young people and was highly esteemed by all his acquaintance. He left behind a monument of kindly deeds, of kindly words, of cheerful smiles, that have brightened and will continue to make bright the lives of all his friends, and will outshine any that can be made out of marble or granite.
