Shean died early Wednesday morning in the family home on Garfield avenue and was buried today at 12:30. Her maiden name was Sarah Jane Burrier, and she was born January 7, 1855, in Lee Township. She was married October 25, 1882, to Mr. Shean, who survives along with the following children; John of Dennison; George of Jefferson County; Mrs. E. M. Gould of Carrollton; Arthur of Alliance and Paul of Akron. Surviving brothers are George Burrier of Kilgore; John Burrier of Carrollton; Shull and Joe Burrier of Lee Township. Mrs. H. H. Kail of Dennison, is a sister. There are eight living grandchildren. About six years ago Mrs. Shean suffered a stroke of paralysis, and had been practically an invalid since. Wednesday of last week she fell from her chair, fracturing a hip. Mr. and Mrs. Shean moved a few months ago from Lee Township to Carrollton. Her obituary in the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, December 31, 1920. Mrs. J. C. Shean died on Tuesday morning at her home in Carrollton. She had suffered from apoplexy for six years and fell December 22, and broke her hip. Funeral services were held today and were conducted by Rev. K. J. Stewart. Interment was made at Harlem Springs. Mrs. Shean was born at Harlem Springs about 66 years ago, and was the daughter of Daniel and Christina (Toot) Burrier; was married to J. C. Shean, October 25, 1882. Mrs. Shean is survived by her husband, four sons, John B., of Dennison, George D., of Bergholz, A. Arthur, of Alliance; and a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Gould of Carrollton. A son, Mark, is deceased. Four brothers, John Burrier, of Carrollton, George Burrier, of Kilgore, and Shull and Joseph Burrier of Harlem Springs, and a sister, Mrs. H. H. Kail of Denison, also survive.
