D. 1764, in State of Virginia Mary Hunt, born in New Jersey, July 25th, 1768. Jacob Painter and Mary Hunt were married in 1788, Jacob and Mary Painter in the year A. D. 1802, Left Virginia and settled in the State of Ohio. There Jacob Painter entered a section of land, In Columbiana County, where Salem does stand, A heavy timbered country in that early day, But the timber Jacob did cut and clear away, Making a beautiful home there by the bye, Said home forty-nine years they did occupy. While Jacob and Mary Painter lived in Virginia, Was born unto them four daughters and sons three, And while Jacob and Mary lived in Ohio, at Salem, Three other children was born unto them. Jacob son of Jacob and Mary, born February 1st, A. D. 1804, At age of 69 departed this life, went on before, Mary Painter born to them A. D. 1806, in April, Little Mary died in 1808, with an innocent smile, Agnes Painter born in 1812, the 19th of May, On earth forty-five years permitted to stay, She married Elnathan Pettit, Daniel's son, And Agnes Pettitdied on June 16th, A. D. 1851, Mary Hunt Painter, Jacob Painter's first wife, At Salem, Ohio, September 7, A. D. 1818 departed this life. Page 4 Jacob Painter, John and Susanna'a second son, Married as a second wife a Mrs. Richeson, And by her Jacob, had two daughters and one son, Both daughters were born on December 21st 1821. So they were twin sisters as you see, Their names, Mary-Ann and marion G. Mary-Ann later married one John Pennock, Marion G. Married J. Metzer, son of Jacob. Jacob Painter, John and Susanna's second son, Died at Salem Ohio, on September 5th, A. D. 1851, Dying in his eighty-eighth year, Leaving many children and grand children dear."
