Description	:	ARCHBOLD - James E. Eicher, 74, of Pettisville, died Monday afternoon, May 3, 1999, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where he had been a patient for two weeks. Born April 19, 1925, near Archbold, he was the son of Bertha (Burkholder) and Arthur Eicher. On Nov. 16, 1947, he married Grace Stamm, and she survives. A member of the Central Mennnonite Church, he was a lifelong resident of the Archbold/Pettisville area, had farmed and was a partner in Eicher's Repair Center in Pettisville the last 20 years. Eicher, 74, of Pettisville, died Monday afternoon, May 3, 1999, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where he had been a patient for two weeks. Born April 19, 1925, near Archbold, he was the son of Bertha (Burkholder) and Arthur Eicher. On Nov. 16, 1947, he married Grace Stamm, and she survives. A member of the Central Mennnonite Church, he was a lifelong resident of the Archbold/Pettisville area, had farmed and was a partner in Eicher's Repair Center in Pettisville the last 20 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Peter, David (and wife, Sue) and Curtis (Elaine), all of Pettisville; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Jeanette) Rice of Strasburg, Pa., Joyce Bedsworth of Hesston, Kan., and Mrs. Geoff (Jane) Rinard of Washington D.C.; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Martha) Stamm of Archbold, Mary Short of Pettisville and Mrs. Dale (Helen) Weldy of Archbold. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Philip Bedsworth. Friends may call at the fellowship hall of the Central Mennonite Church on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Memorial services will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. at the church with Pastors Charles Gautsche, Wayne Pipkin and Jeffrey Smith officiating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Short Funeral Home, Archbold, is in charge of arrangements.
