Description	:	Martha J. Stamm, age 86 years, of Archbold, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, where she had resided the past month. She was born Feb. 24, 1922, near Archbold, a daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Burkholder) Eicher, and married Walter Stamm on April 13, 1941. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a homemaker and helped on the farm. She was a member of the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold, Cherry Street Mission Auxiliary, and the Ladies Group of WPOS. Stamm, age 86 years, of Archbold, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, where she had resided the past month. She was born Feb. 24, 1922, near Archbold, a daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Burkholder) Eicher, and married Walter Stamm on April 13, 1941. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a homemaker and helped on the farm. She was a member of the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold, Cherry Street Mission Auxiliary, and the Ladies Group of WPOS. She is survived by her husband, Walter, who resides at Fairlawn Haven; three sons, Edward (Karen) Stamm of Archbold, Roger (Jeannine) Stamm of Stryker, and Dale (Leslie) Stamm of West Unity; two daughters, Pat (Bill) Bondi of Secor, Ill., and Karen (Ross) Wyse of Archbold; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen (Dale) Weldy of Archbold; and a sisterin law, Grace Eicher of Pettisville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; one brother, James Eicher; and one sister, Mary Short-Frey. Memorial services were held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Central Mennonite Church with Pastors Jeffrey Smith, Wanda Stopher, Bill Holsopple, and Charles Gautsche officiating. Interment preceded in the Pettisville Cemetery. Short Funeral Home in Archbold was in charge of the arrangements.
